Along with Medvedev, Putin is expected to compete in presidential elections in Russia in March 2012. Both of them suggested an advance in the Russian presidential election, without naming who is ahead in the polls.

Putin had become president of Russia in 2000 to 2008 before handing power to Medvedev, because the rule limits a president for two terms. But he could run for president again in March to come.
